| change is the most important factor in your decision, then the following does not apply. To clarify: I posted those links for your benefit, not to prove my Search Prowess. If you choose not to use them then I have wasted my time. The only reason I knew that information was available here and on the auto care websites is because I went through this a year or two ago. I think there have been enough Zs for sale over the past 6 years to reasonably expect a Cobalt Green 2+2 to come up. Point B is what is in contention. I am stating that in my opinion I do not agree that this choice will be an improvement. Changing the color of the vehicle this way will lower its value compared to another Z of the same color and condition without the color change, all other factors remaining equal. This is not an unreasonable statement. My posts are based on my recent experience with my Z. Your car isn't that bad. I had the same peeling and fading on the bumper, the T-top and door trim was faded, and much of the chrome was showing. I really though my car looked rough when I looked at it from across a parking lot. The bumper I had painted at a body shop. You can probably have Maaco do the same for less than I paid. Removing and/or replacing your Nissan sticker will also make a big difference. Cleaning and repainting the trim makes more of a difference in the overall appearance of the Z than I think you realize. Look for member's posts or post a query for them to share their before and after pics. If I had before pics I would have posted them. Also, if your rear wiper is faded painting, powder-coating, or deleting it will help. The lower portion of your doors and body, the rough rock guard, holds dirt and wax more than the rest. I was very surprised when I put some elbow grease into it with a cleaner and what I thought were paint chips actually washed off and came to a luster. Part of the appeal to the Cobalt Green was the depth of the color. I don't know if you can get that in this manner. If you were to detail your car and compare it to a Cobalt Green, I think you would notice a big difference. Looking at your pics the color looks totally different. This is very similar to the kit I have, though I bought it from GlimmerGlass Detailing: Porter Cable 7424 I used: Medium Clay Bar #105 Ultra-Cut Compound #205 Ultra Finishing Polish Followed by a sealer wax and topped with S100 Carnuba wax.
S100 (buy it from a local Harley shop, the same wax packed for car use is more than double the price) This actually changed the look of the car. If those are the major dents, have you checked out a PDR shop? Also, after all of the polishing and touch up, I bought some used chrome mufflers and cleaned them up...they totaly changed the look of the car once again, the difference was astounding to me! I don't know if the Wheel Police have gotten you yet, but your wheels are on the wrong sides of the car. They have an L and R on them, hopefully you don't have all L or R. Some people wait until they get new tires, some don't...I'd guess that you realize you can't swap them around if you have directional tires.
